You might see people all the time saying, “love yourself!” at the top of their lungs…in fact, I might be one of those people you see. But, it is hard to really love yourself, if you don’t really know who or why you are the way you are. That’s why I thought I would create this little resource of my top 4 tests to help you know yourself.
Meyers Briggs Type Indicator
The MBTI is probably the most recognized personality test out there. It breaks down your personality into 4 groups.
Energy: Extroverted vs Introverted
Information: Intuition vs Sensing
Decisions: Thinking vs Feeling
Organization: Judging vs Perceiving
These categories are then placed into 16 possible personality types, where you are given a fun personality type such as The Architect, The Mediator, The Defender, The Virtuoso and more. And if you have ever heard someone say, “I am an ESTJ,” before, this is where they get those letters.

Enneagram
Another one of my favorite personality types is an Enneagram. If you’ve ever seen me say, “I am a 6,” this test is how I know.
I took the test on My Enneagram Coach and it blew me away. It was so accurate with who I am as a person, that I always recommend that people use this website to find out.
It asks you a bunch of questions about who you are and then puts it into a number category, 1-9.
Just like the MBTI personalities, these categories also have fun personality names as well. And you can have ‘wings’ to have a little more uniqueness within your enneagram number.
I have had a blast learning more about my ‘6’ personality and I think you will too. Click here to take the free enneagram test and let me know what number you are!
Right-Brain vs Left-Brain
Do you hear people talking about which brain you use the most? I know I hear it all the time. For some people, it is really obvious. If you are more analytical and want to know the how of things, you are more left-brain. If you are more creative and want to know the why of life, you are more right-brain.
BUT!
You can be a mix of both, like me.
For other people, it’s not so easy to figure out which brain you tend to use more. I know, I am very analytical and creative at the same time. And I want to know both the how and the why of life. And that’s why I was almost even brained when I took my test and you can keep reading to see my results.

DISC
DISC stands for Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness.
These different categories are associated with a color and they are presented in the shape of a pie graph showing you which you are the most like.
Dominance: Red
Influence: Yellow
Steadiness: Green
Conscientiousness: Blue
This test also helps you determine where you spend most of your focus and what you are motivated by in life. This can help you figure out how you work and how you work with others as well.
So if you’ve heard someone refer to themselves as a “red” before, it means that they like to focus on accomplishing results and they are motivated by success.

Bringing it All Together
Now, while I love taking these tests, I always look at them as a big picture and I don’t rely on one test more than the others.
I look mainly for overlap and see where I got similar results.
MBTI: The Mediator
Enneagram: The Loyalist-6
Left/Right Brain: 46%/54%
DISC: The Coordinator (mainly S&C)
Then I can take those areas in life and make sense of why I view things a certain way or why I am a certain way.
This really opened my eyes to allow myself to have more self-compassion and self-forgiveness when I wasn’t like other people I knew. It helped me really learn how to be myself.
And I hope that knowing more about who you are will help you to learn how to be yourself and love yourself.
